Kathy & Gene : Been married for 46 years

Kathy “I think be realistic that your expectations sometime are so high but most of marriages just live between the ups and the downs. And that’s hard work, not all the time but it’s hard work.”

Gene “ One of the pieces of advices that my dad gave me is..”Gene always communicate, always talk, talk things out” and I really believe that communication is so essential and you need to work out many different areas before you get married. I think you need to talk about money matters, I think you need to talk about child upbringings I think religion is important. Sex take care of itself (at this point you will hear Kathy makes a noises remark- I’m not sure if that means she’s disagree or ?)….


Karl & Bonnie : Been married for 54 years

Karl “You can’t learn to give more than your take or you’ll never make it and that’s the bottom line.”

Bonnie “and you need to grow together..ahh..in what you do, you know. Try new things, start skiing if you haven’t done it, do it as a couple. Do things together, you know. .. don’t you have your own hobbies and your husband has his own hobbies that’s not a real good way”


Bill & Kay : Been married for 43 years

Bill “ Every time if you have disagreement or a problem, you correct it before you go to bed and then you never wake up with the carry over. To me that’s always been a good advice….”

Kay “ I have to say.. play together, stay together, instead of going your own separate way and doing your own things.
